Wellness Wednesday: Stretch It Out, Mama!

A Beginner’s Guide to Prenatal Yoga

Happy Hump Day, Mamacita,

Let me start by saying: I was not a yoga person.

Before pregnancy, I thought yoga was just, well, boring. I was more into active exercise and I found it hard to sit still like that. I thought yoga was something people did in quiet studios that smelled like eucalyptus and judgment.

But somewhere in the middle of my first trimester—after days of nausea and nights of pelvic heaviness—I found myself crawling onto the floor in my living room, just needing to stretch something.

And that’s how it began.

Not with a fancy mat or a boutique class.

Just me, in sweats, on my rug, doing the one stretch I remembered from YouTube.

And you know what?

It helped.

My back hurt a little less.

My breath slowed.

And I didn’t feel quite so trapped in my body.

So whether you're a yoga newbie or someone who hasn't touched their toes since middle school gym class, this one’s for you.
